Kim, I'm the one who mentioned the Paughco muffler in the Jireh Catalog. Like yourself, I'm still looking for a muffler with a deep tone, but not loud enough to disturb my neighbors.
I installed the 22" Paughco (#64-415) on my Savage last week, and it sounds great...WHILE IDLING! Revving the engine produces a loud machine-gun sound that causes me to ride with the very minimum throttle to avoid this noise while in residential areas. So this investment of $48.80 was a bad one.
I have never heard a Supertrapp or a Jardine, so I couldn't help you there. I may even try a Jardine, as many on the forum seem to like it. It can't be any louder than my Paughco! I can't locate the #64-306 muffler you mentioned in the Jireh Catalog.

Ride with Pride...
Hartail Hal,
